Delete your W1 account
Sign in with the account you want to delete. You will see exactly what goes before anything is deleted.
What is deleted
- Your profile, public handle and referral code
- Your sign-in identity, so this email address can later start a new, empty account
- Every session, on the desktop app, VS Code, the CLI and the phone. Each stops working within a minute. A few sessions from older sign-ins cannot be looked up to erase: they are refused from then on, and their records expire on their own within 30 days
- Your cloud machine and its disk, with everything on it, if you had one
- Your usage history, run traces and support screenshots
- Referral records that are yours (anything a friend already earned stays theirs)
- Artifacts you published
- Your web waitlist entry
What is kept
- If you paid: the minimum invoice record of each payment (amount, date, Payfast reference), kept for 5 years because tax law requires it, with no name, email or account attached. Payfast keeps its own record of the payment.
- Product analytics events (which buttons were used, how long a run took). They carry no name or email; after deletion the account id on them belongs to nobody.
- Aggregate numbers (how many people used W1 this week) that cannot be tied back to you.
- If you unsubscribed from email: a one-way hash of the address, so we never email it again.
- Our email provider's delivery logs of email we sent you, kept by the provider under its own retention.
- A marker that this account id was deleted (no name, no email), so it cannot be signed back into.
A paid subscription is cancelled first. This cannot be undone.
